NutrAI Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 18, 2026
NutrAI ("we," "us," or "our") is a mobile nutrition-tracking application (the "App") independently developed and operated by an individual developer, with no separate registered company. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you sign in, we (through our authentication provider, Supabase) collect:
- Your email address (for email one-time-code sign-in)
- Your name, email, and profile photo if you sign in with Google or Apple
- A unique account identifier
1.2 Profile Information
- Full name
- Avatar/profile photo
- Daily calorie goal and other nutrition targets you set
1.3 Meal Photos & Nutrition Data
- Photos of meals you capture with your camera or select from your photo library
- AI-generated food identification results: food names, portion size (grams), and estimated calories, protein, carbs, fat, and fiber
- The date, time, and meal slot (breakfast/lunch/dinner/snack) you log
- Diet plans you select or create, and your daily progress against them
1.4 Conversations
- Messages you send to the in-app AI nutrition assistant, and the assistant's replies
1.5 Subscription & Purchase Information
- Your subscription tier (Explorer, Member, Pro) and credit balance
- Purchase and subscription status, provided to us by RevenueCat and the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
- We do not collect or store your payment card number, bank details, or other payment credentials — these are handled entirely by Apple or Google.
1.6 Device & Usage Information
- Push notification token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging), so we can deliver reminders
- App configuration flags (via Firebase Remote Config)
- Device type, operating system, app version, and language/locale setting
- Basic diagnostic and crash information needed to keep the App running reliably
1.7 Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
We do not collect precise location data, contacts, or browsing history from other apps.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to:
- Create and secure your account
- Analyze meal photos using AI to estimate calories and macronutrients
- Power the conversational AI nutrition assistant, using your logged nutrition data as context
- Store your nutrition history and show trends, charts, and progress over time
- Recommend and track diet plans
- Process and manage your subscription and credit balance
- Send you push or local notifications you have opted into (e.g., meal reminders)
- Localize the App into your preferred language
- Maintain, secure, debug, and improve the App
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information.
3. AI Processing Disclosure
NutrAI uses Anthropic's Claude AI models to power two features:

Anthropic processes this data on our behalf under its own data processing terms and does not use it to train its models under our commercial agreement. AI-generated nutrition estimates are approximations and may not be perfectly accurate — see Section 10 of our Terms & Conditions.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on the following providers, each of which processes a subset of your data solely to provide their service to us:

Each provider is contractually or by policy restricted from using your data for purposes other than providing services to us.
5. How We Store & Protect Your Data
- Your account, profile, and nutrition data are stored in a Supabase Postgres database.
- Meal photos are stored in a private storage bucket and are only ever accessed via short-lived, signed URLs — they are not publicly browsable.
- Avatar photos are stored in a separate storage bucket used only to display your profile picture.
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). We use industry-standard access controls to restrict who can access production data.
- No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and nutrition data for as long as your account is active, so that your history and trends remain available to you. If you delete your account (Section 8), we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.
7. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate profile data directly in the App (Profile screen)
- Delete your account and associated data (Section 8)
- Withdraw consent for push notifications at any time, in your device or App settings
- Object to or restrict certain processing, or request data portability

8. Deleting Your Account
You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account inside the App. This will remove:
- Your profile and authentication record
- Your meal logs, meal photos, and nutrition history
- Your diet plan history
- Your subscription linkage (your subscription itself is managed by Apple/Google and must be cancelled separately through your App Store/Play Store account settings)

9. Children's Privacy
NutrAI is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Data Transfers
Our service providers may process and store data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for these transfers.

NutrAI provides AI-estimated nutrition information for informational purposes only. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified physician, dietitian, or other healthcare professional. See our Terms & Conditions for full disclaimers.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the App or by email before the change takes effect. The "Effective date" above reflects the latest revision.
